Even competing with great action sequences, memorable kills, and one of the most iconic movie aliens of all time, the Predator quotes stand out in the classic genre-bending movie. With a mix of action, science-fiction, and horror, 1987's Predator was a thrilling ride that launched a franchise that is still going to this day. Following a group of commandos on a jungle mission, the team soon finds a far deadlier enemy than they expected with an extraterrestrial killer who hunts for sport.
The upcoming Predator movie Badlands will continue the franchise following its long-awaited revitalization with Prey. However, there are still many fans who feel the series never topped the original movie. The ensemble cast was a big reason for the fun of these movies as well as the design of the titular movie monster. However, it is a testament to the script that there are still so many memorable Predator lines that live on decades after the movie was released.

15 "Old Painless Is Waiting."
Blain (Jesse Ventura)
Though Dutch and his team are supposedly meant to be on a stealth mission, they come with a lot of firepower. Blain's massive mini-gun seems especially impractical to carry around in the jungle, but it is hard to deny how exciting it is when he fires it off. Blain's nickname for the devastating gun just adds to the fun as "Painless" seems like an ironic name for any weapon. However, given the power that comes with it, it is probably safe to assume there would be much pain.

Predator's genius genre flip is part of the fun of the movie as it begins as though the audience would be expecting a typical Arnold Schwarzenegger action movie only to turn into a monster movie. Scenes like the storming of the compound and Blain's impractical gun embrace the over-the-top entertainment of the action genre.
14 "I'm Gonna Cut Your Name Into Him."
Mac (Bill Duke)
Even with the biggest gun in the group, Blain is one of the first members of the team to die in the jungle. His death is a particularly devastating blow to Mac, his best friend who immediately begins looking for revenge. Even though the team knows they are going up against something that is more than just an ordinary human, Mac is deadset on getting payback. As he sits next to Blain's body, he makes the morbid yet oddly touching promise to carve his fallen comrade's name into whatever killed him.

13 "I'm Gonna Have Me Some Fun."
Mac (Bill Duke)
At first, Mac seemed like a calm if somewhat chilling member of the team, but something changes when Blain is killed. He seems to lose touch with reality and is only concerned with killing whatever creature is hunting them. Finally ignoring all sense of strategy, Mac runs out into the jungle to face the alien. In a callback to the beginning of the movie as the team listens to the song "Long Tall Sally," Mac begins singing the song, showing just how little he fears this extra-terrestrial enemy he's going up against.
12 "Maybe I Can Get Even."
Dillon (Carl Weathers)

From the beginning, Dillon was the odd man out on this team. He is a CIA man who insists on coming along for the mission but also reveals he has some secrets to hide which puts him at odds with Dutch. However, when the team begins getting picked off one by one, Dillon sees they are all in the same situation and his heroic side comes through.
He volunteers to face the Predator as the others attempt to escape. Dutch tells Dillon that he can't win against it. In a sign that Dillon is not the selfish character he initially seemed, he implies that he knows he is going off to be killed but hopes he can at least do some damage. Dillion's last stand and memorable death solidify the character as one of the best Carl Weathers performances from the late actor.

11 "You're One Ugly Motherf***er."
Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
The alien's sleek armor is very impressive as seen throughout the movie, but it is nothing compared to the moment the Predator removes his mask, giving one of the best monster reveals in horror movies. The unique and terrifying design of the creature has become iconic and the moment is made even better with Dutch's immediate insult. It is a funny line, but it also shows that even when faced with the most terrifying creature he's ever seen, Dutch still has plenty of fight in him.
10 "What's The Matter, CIA Got You Pushing Too Many Pencils?"
Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger)

Predator has no reservations about embracing some of its cheesy lines, and some are made so by the context they are used in. This one, for example, is a nice fun prod by itself, but add on the fact that Arnold says it while seemingly arm-wrestling a man in mid-air and it becomes ridiculous in the best way.
When Dutch sees Dillon, the two are happy to see one another with a hint of animosity. They lock arms as a greeting, but it then turns into a slight test of strength. Dutch clearly has Dillon outmatched and rubs salt in the wound with this line.
9 "Get To The Choppa!"
Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
Though the franchise has had some memorable leads since then, it would be exciting to see Arnold Schwarzenegger return to the Predator universe. His role as Dutch helped to solidify him as a leading man and continue his career of quotable lines, with this one being one of the most iconic which shows Dutch as the relentless hero.

Dutch's whole team is dead, and the only person left with him is the woman they picked up at the encampment early on. An energy blast from the predator's cannon nails him, sending him crashing to the ground, injured. Immediately, Dutch yells the line at the woman, and she goes. He only has one ally left in this mess, and he screams at her to leave him without a second thought.
8 "I See You."
Mac (Bill Duke)
Another great aspect of the ensemble of the original movie is that all of the characters feel like they are intimidating enough to lead their own action movie. This goes for Bill Duke's Mac as well as it seems for a while that he might actually have what it takes to hunt this alien down. He also delivers his threats and lines with a chilling nature that suggests just how dangerous he is.

One of the moments that shows how impressive Mac is comes when he and Dillion are out in the jungle hunting down the Predator. Despite it being virtually invisible to the heroes for much of the movie, Mac points out to Dillion that it is there hiding in the trees and quietly mocks the deadly enemy as if the tables have finally turned.
7 "There's Something Out There Waiting For Us, And It Ain't No Man. We're All Gonna Die."
Billy (Sonny Landham)
Billy is another impressive character in the movie as the stoic tracker of the group. He is the first one to sense the Predator hunting them and his unease with this feeling sets the stage to imply that these commandos are up against something they can't defeat. Billy puts the whole team on edge after admitting he is afraid, leading Poncho to claim "you ain't afraid of no man."

Billy responds with this line, proving his comrade right, but also terrifying him with this new claim that they are dealing with something beyond human. Unfortunately for everyone but Dutch, Billy ends up being right about the fate of the team.

6 "Stick Around."
Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
Right after briefly meeting the squad, they assault an encampment of enemy forces, making quick work of all of them in a wild action set piece that is very different from the more tense horror setpieces of the rest of the movie. It's the real introduction to these men and the perfect way to set up how dangerous they are, only for them to be then be hunted.

In the midst of the action, we get a classic Schwarzenegger moment that could fit into almost any of his 80s action roles. When an enemy gets the jump on him, he spins and throws his machete, impaling the man and pinning him to the wall. The one-liner Dutch delivers to the dead man with a smile is a lot of fun.
5 "Got That?"
Mac (Bill Duke)
After Dillon makes too much noise moving positions, an annoyed Mac pulls him aside, away from the other men. He threatens Dillon with the full line: "I don't care who you are back in the real world. You give our position away one more time and I'll bleed ya, real quiet. Leave ya here, got that?"

Though Mac knows the CIA man Dillon outranks him, he also knows that he is deadlier than him and could easily kill him off without anyone noticing. It is a great early sign of Mac's quiet menace and somewhat unhinged mind. However, it also sets up the tension between the two very quickly which makes their later team-up more enjoyable.
4 "Come On! Kill Me!"
Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
While Dutch ranks as one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's strongest action movie characters, he is also one of the most intelligent ones which makes for a thrilling climactic showdown with the Predator. Knowing he cannot beat him in a straight fight, Dutch instead tries to lure the monster into a trap with this taunting challenge.
Unfortunately for him, the galactic hunter is just smart enough to figure out what is happening at the last second and go around. The look on Dutch's face as the Predator figures out the plan is a hilarious moment. However, Dutch gets the last laugh in revealing that he has a backup trap as well.

3 "I Ain't Got Time To Bleed."
Blain (Jesse Ventura)
During the encampment attack, every soldier on the squad is given an opportunity to showcase their bravado and natural talent for killing people with big guns. The best of these moments is easily Jesse Ventura's Blain. He already gets to tote and fire a mini-gun that looks like it should be strapped to the side of a helicopter, but then just to add to it, when Poncho points out that he's bleeding, he drops this iconic line. The overly macho tough guy line is perfect for the movie, especially as Poncho seems to react like it is a nonsensical line.
2 "What The Hell Are You?"
Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger)

Dutch eventually comes out victorious over the Predator in their final fight but is still wary of this deadly beast. He looks down on the dying Predator and wonders aloud what kind of creature it actually is. As it dies, the Predator uses its voice-mimicking abilities to repeat the question back to Dutch.
What makes the line all the more impactful is how it is unclear what the Predator meant. Was it mocking Dutch with its final breath? Was if simply repeating this other language without understanding what it means? Or was he wondering how this inferior being managed to defeat him?

It is true that things initially looked very bad for Dutch and his team. The Predator displays superior weaponry and strength and even has the ability to cloak himself. However, this is the line that marks a turning point in Predator and suggests that they might have a chance for survival.
This happens after the panicked team unloads their massive guns into the jungle with the hope of killing the unseen enemy. While they are disheartened to see that they barely injured the monster, Dutch takes the green blood it leaves behind as a good sign. As formidable as this killer alien is, it is not invincible.
